The Christian Statesman

News of the National Reform Association

by Jeffrey Ziegler

The National Reform Association continues its renaissance as a Christian think-tank and powerful engine for the advancement of an explicitly Christian political social theory on both the national and state levels.

I am greatly heartened by the stellar work of William Einwechter as editor of The Christian Statesman. The overall content, publication punctuality, visibility, and dramatically increased readership, all point to an optimistic future for this venerable periodical.

On the national scene, we will continue our educational forays to Washington D.C., meeting with senators, representatives, legislative aides, and, with the inauguration of George W. Bush as President, we aim to make our presence known in the White House as well. Toward this end, we will schedule at least three of these capital missions before the end of July. We will also sponsor a biblical worldview seminar on Capitol Hill, with sessions specific to both the House and Senate. We will double the size of our "NRA teams," drawing on men and resources from churches allied with our vision and hailing from the states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Florida.

NRA Board Member and author John Fielding III has been tasked with gathering all information needed to expand NRA operations beyond its current educational efforts, creating an official lobbying arm through the concurrent formation of a Political Action Committee and a separate 501(c4) organization.

Statewide, NRA Chapters are currently being formed, with the state of Ohio representing the first Chapter so formed and approved. Procedures for other Chapters have been formulated and approved. If you are interested in starting an NRA State Chapter, please contact NRA Vice President William Einwechter at: +1 717 738 0561 or yours truly at +1 440 428 1835.

I will continue my efforts to educate and develop relationships with national and local media regarding the history, message, and mission of the NRA. These ends will be accomplished through public forums, personal contact and discipleship, press releases, and visibility at high-profile events that will encourage greater press coverage of our organization. We will attempt to control our news as best as possible, choosing strategic opportunities to sound our trumpet and avoid being marginalized as mere reactionaries to adverse political or cultural events. While it is always a possibility when dealing with media for things to "get out of control," it is my aim to define the battlefield to the best of my abilities.

Please note our excellent website where past articles, event information, and news briefs may be found. I salute Board Member and Secretary Dan Herrick for his maintenance and diligent work with the NRA in this regard. Log on to our site at: www.NatReformAssn.org

Finally, while there are other activities and projects not yet mentioned in this narrative, sufficient voice has been given to give you a sense of our goals for this year. Perhaps one of the most important Board directives taken in the previous year was the re-establishment of a defined NRA membership. In this light, I'm encouraging all subscribers to the Christian Statesman, friends of the NRA, and all allies of the vision of this 136-year-old ministry in becoming an official member, and thus help us to achieve our mission. For an annual donation of $25.00, you will receive a subscription to The Christian Statesman and official recognition of your membership status. If you've been looking for an historic, doctrinally Reformed, aggressive, and cogent representation of true Christian statesmanship, then the National Reform Association should be given your primary consideration for support over all other social/political organizations who do not share our presuppositions. Send all contributions in care of: The National Reform Association, P.O. Box 8741, Pittsburgh, PA. 15221.

I look forward in hope and faith for exciting, open and effectual doors of utterance to be opened for us, and with your prayers, participation, and practical support, we will gain the inevitable triumph.

-In Christ's Victorious Kingdom,
Rev. Jeffrey A. Ziegler
