The Christian Statesman

From the Editor's Desk

by William Einwechter

Mike McHugh's article, Statesmen Versus Politicians, that appeared in the July - August, 2002 issue of The Christian Statesman has generated quite a response from our readers. In this issue, we publish a letter and article that were submitted to the editor critiquing Mike's essay, along with a response from Mike.

With this issue I begin my seventh year as editor of The Christian Statesman, Throughout these years we have sought to provide political opinion and analysis from an explicitly Christian perspective and to teach the principles of Christian civil government. Thanks to the work of our writers, the support of our readers, and by the grace of God, we believe that we have, in good measure, achieved these goals.

Readership of the Statesman has been steadily increasing due to the growth of our subscribers and to the posting of articles and entire issues of the Statesman on the National Reform Association web site. In fact, many, if not most, of our new subscribers and readers have found out about us through the web site. We constantly receive comments from our new readers concerning how thankful they are to find The Christian Statesman, because of its solid, biblical approach to politics. There are many more Christians like these who need to learn of The Christian Statesman, The best way for them to find out is for you to tell them! The easiest means for you to expose them to the Statesman is to direct them to the NRA web site:

http://www.NatReformAssn.org/

Here, they can read past articles and issues, but can also request a free, introductory 6 month subscription.

You may also write or e-mail us and ask that we send a sample copy to individuals that you believe would be interested in The Christian Statesman.

Readers are welcome to submit articles or reviews for possible publication. Submissions should be sent to the editor at The Christian Statesman, P.O. Box 115, Hopeland, PA 17533 or weinwechter@dejazzd.com. All submissions are subject to editorial revision. Writers a should include a brief biographical sketch. The editor is not responsible for the return of unsolicited manuscripts.
