National Reform Association ==>Christian Statesman ==>November - December 2002 ==>Note from Raymond Joseph
Where would we be if America's churches had recognized the eternal truth of Psalm 2 and fought against the Enlightenment forces of the Founding Era; had "teased the Enlightenment threads" out of our Constitution; had acknowledged the need for a Higher Source of Law, far above the limited skulls of "We the People"; had closed the constitutional tent flap to the nose of the humanistic camel, thus denying access to the rest of the monstrous Enlightenment beast, which now all but occupies the land?
But they didn't do any of these things. So today, we have the American Civil Liberties Union running rampant over the fruited plain, a ravenous beast hating anything resembling visible, civic Christianity. We have the U.S. Supreme Court finding abortion-on-demand in the so-called "penumbras" of the Constitution. We have the gay movement brazenly presenting themselves before the faces of decent people. All because our Framers failed to ground our Constitution on anything higher than humanistic man and the supreme wisdom of "We the people." And, sadly, the church was complicit in accepting the Framers/ failure (except one-- the RPCNA Covenanters).
