National Reform Association ==>Christian Statesman ==>May - June 1994 ==>President's Swan Song
We are sorry that this issue of the Statesman is so late. We've had a lot of major turmoil here this year, and hope to get back on schedule soon. We are so far behind, that we'll report on the actions taken at our October 1994 Association and Board Meeting.
This is my last edition as editor of the Statesman, and my term as president of the board of the NRA is over.
I have enjoyed my years on the board of the NRA. It has been a joy and privilege for me to serve you and Christ through this organization. As a pastor, I feel it is now time for me to give all my attention to the work of building the Elkins Park Reformed Presbyterian Church, so I have passed my responsibilities on to other very capable hands.
Andrew Sandlin has been elected president of the Board of Directors. Andy is pastor of the Church of the Word, an independent, orthodox, Reformed church. He is a scholar and good writer, having completed a master's degree in English literature, and writing not only for the Statesman, but also for R.J. Rushdoony's Chalcedon Report and an English Reformed journal as well.
He has special interest and expertise in the doctrine of justification, and is a lover of theology. But, Andy is also an activist and people-person who "networks" quite extensively. His administrative gifts and organizational abilities are top-notch.
The new editor of the Statesman is N. Steven Campbell, who has been on our board for a number of years. Steve is a professional writer with the Mortgage Bankers Association, and so brings a wealth of technical expertise to the position surpassing any recent editors of the Statesman.
Linda M. Au continues as our executive editor, typesetter, and office manager, providing continuity to the look and feel of the magazine.
I am also excited about the new members of the board, and you should be too! To replace Mr. Campbell's term on the board, we have elected Jeff Ziegler. Jeff is a revivalist preacher who does not shrink from proclaiming the whole counsel of God, including full-fledged confessional Calvinism, a Law-affirming Christian world-and-life view, and an aggressive presuppositional presentation of the truth.
Perry Coghlan is a Presbyterian pastor in Coshocton, Ohio, who is a thinker, writer, and activist.
Bill Einwechter is a Baptist pastor of solid Reformed proclivities, and a prolific writer who has led in the establishment of an Eastern Central Pennsylvania Christian think-tank that has produced some very helpful papers and consultations.
John Fielding is an attorney and Reformed Episcopal Seminary graduate who applies biblical wisdom to the hands-on areas of politics and law, as well as ethics, apologetics, and a host of other realms.
These leaders join John Perry, editor of our "Pillars" department and our new vice president, and the stable, long-standing members of the board. I believe you will see that this board will be an active group, as we broaden and localize our efforts to bring the nations to the knowledge of Christ as King. These leaders need and deserve your support!
The National Reform Association is positioned to do much good, by influencing Christians with the right vision of true statesmanship.
May our nation come to Christ, and may He spare us the Vengeance of His Terrible Swift Sword, as His Truth goes marching on!
