National Reform Association ==>Christian Statesman ==>January - February 1997 ==>Letters
Have just started to peruse your Sept.-Oct. 1996 issue with the letters to the editor regarding the U.S. Constitution. We can be thankful to our Sovereign God that the thinking of the Protestant Reformation was based on the Bible, God's Word, but we must also recall that Reformation thought was borne of conflict, and much of it armed conflict.
Having gotten disgusted with the corruption in the military and having a certain amount of pride and vanity about not just "hanging in there" for a military pension if I am not really capable of doing a good job, I sent my Reserve Command headquarters in Oakdale, PA a copy of the Reformed Presbyterian explanatory declaration to the loyalty oath to the Constitution, even though it is almost two years now since I re-enlisted for six years in the Army Reserve back in 1995. How my chain of command reacts to the R. P. explanatory declaration will probably color whatever thoughts the Lord permits me on the course Christians should take regarding the U. S. Constitution. Your prayers are solicited concerning this most recent action.

Thank you for sharing The Christian Statesman with me. CMDS [Christian Medical & Dental Society] will be subscribing. I am impressed with the challenge you have. At the leading of the Holy Spirit, we have become much more active in the public arena over the last year. It is a slippery slope, requiring us to hold fast to His Word. I appreciate that emphasis in your publication.
